In my work at PJI, I am driven by a passion for building community wellness and dismantling structures of oppression. I began my career as a health educator working with system-involved youth, then quickly recognized that social systems needed to change in order for those young people to thrive.
Over the past 17 years, I have worked on a broad range of national, state and local training and technical assistance initiatives that critically examine and improve the way that public systems function—most recently helping local coalitions and jurisdictions develop antiracist solutions for pretrial policies and practices. While my goal is for people to be healthy and safe in their communities, I “speak system” and am particularly skilled at working in the weeds with public officials who are personally committed to ending mass incarceration.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me in a yoga studio or on top of a mountain — and I’m happiest when I can be advancing pretrial justice from a campground. I live in Colorado with my husband, three boys, two dogs and one very sassy guinea pig.
