Alycia Castillo (she/her) is a policy analyst and civil rights advocate. She is co-founder of the Finish the 5 Campaign in Texas and works as a Senior Advocacy Manager at the Texas Civil Rights Project. Her work is aimed at upending systems of oppression and building infrastructures of support. She organizes alongside youth, families, and communities with lived experience in the carceral system to elevate their perspectives and needs to shape more just and equitable public policy for our collective liberation. Alycia previously worked as a teacher, specializing in positive-based learning interventions for students with learning disabilities. She received her degree in Social Work at Texas State University and brings a trauma-informed perspective to her analysis of the factors that drive criminalization.
