Jaylin McClinton

Jaylin McClinton (he/him) is a life-long Chicagoan, raised in Roseland on the South Side. He is a proud alumnus of Saint Sabina Academy; Curie Metropolitan High School, where he was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme; the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied African-American Studies and Political Science with a Pre-Law Concentration, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts & Sciences; and the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor becoming the first lawyer in his family.

Before law school, Jaylin completed stints as Chief of Staff and District Manager for then-Illinois State Representative Juliana Stratton, now the Lieutenant Governor of Illinois, and at the Obama Foundation in dually appointed positions as an Associate Director on the Public Engagement team and an Internship Program Lead on the People team. He also served the American people as a White House intern in the Obama-Biden Administration’s Office of Management & Administration, and is a former popularly-elected student member of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees.

Jaylin is an avid runner; is dedicated to public interest law and public service; and is passionate about reforming the American civil and criminal legal systems with the intent to reduce centuries of harm and oppression.
