Speakers

Regina Alhassan is an internationally recognized expert in prospect development and fundraising. She helps nonprofits turn data into dollars and dreams into action. Affectionately known as “Money” in the nonprofit sector, Regina has guided organizations to uncover billions in potential funding and secure transformational gifts with strategy, clarity, and confidence. With nearly 30 years of industry leadership, she’s a trusted voice at the forefront—serving as a faculty member for Apra Fundamentals and a celebrated TEDx Speaker on the future of philanthropy. Regina is also an award-winning visual artist, writer, and philanthropist whose work lives at the intersection of analytics and artistry. Driven by a deep passion for equity and empowerment, Regina is committed to demystifying the science of fundraising so that every nonprofit leader—no matter their size or budget—can build meaningful donor relationships and reach bold revenue goals.

As the Senior Associate for Partnerships & Engagement, Kevin supports efforts that extend the voice and influence of PJI and other system stakeholders and community organizations working at the forefront of equitable pretrial change. He is co-founder of The Hustlers Guild, a nonprofit that uses hip-hop to expand access and opportunity to Black and Latinx youth from low-income households in partnership with violence prevention organizations, detention centers, celebrities, pro-athletes, and Fortune 500 companies.  He previously worked as an advisor to Secretary Julian Castro at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, a Portfolio Lead within the White House Presidential Correspondence Office, and as a high school and middle school history teacher in Philadelphia.

Guisela Marroquín is the Executive Director of the Pretrial Justice Institute, bringing 15+ years of experience advancing racial equity, policy reform, and community-driven solutions to end mass incarceration. A lifelong advocate, she has led campaigns on bail reform, solitary confinement, police accountability, and immigrant justice, and previously served as Senior Director of Programs at The New York Women’s Foundation, where she managed multi-million-dollar grantmaking to support grassroots, Black- and Brown-led movements. A proud Guatemalan immigrant and first-generation college graduate, Guisela’s leadership is rooted in lived experience, shared power, and a vision of community safety beyond incarceration. She holds a Master’s in Social Work from CUNY Hunter and lives in New York with her husband and their dog, Harlee.
